Step by Step Record
When you open Focus MP3 Recorder Pro , you will get to the default interface-- the Recorder. Make sure your audio source is ready, hardware is properly connected and everything is in good condition.
Before recording you need to complete the following setups on the program
- Choose where to record from in the drop-down menu: Mono mix, stereo mix, aux, CD player, line, microphone or phone line (different sound card with different list)
- Choose an output format for your files: WAV, MP3, OGG and WMA;
- Set both recording volume and playback volume to a suitable level; If the curves reaches the red area frequently and stay for a long time, your recording volume must be too high. Lower the recording volume otherwise the audio will be distorted.
- If you need higher recording quality, check R. Noise option to get rid of clicks and crackles during recording.
- Go to the Options to set parameters for your recording. For example: detailed format parameters, hotkeys, schedules, auto-stop, output path, file name and etc.
Now you can play your audio source and begin recording.
- Play the audio on CD/cassette/LP player or get through your microphone or telephone line.
- Click the Record button in Focus MP3 Recorder Pro or use hotkeys or schedules to activate recording.
- Check if the audio curves in the display area are in normal status. If the colored line keeps still in the center, you need to check the connection of the input device.
- The green curve and yellow curve in the display area stand for sound from left or right channel (green=left channel, yellow=right channel). If you get only one curve, please check your input connection.
- When recording goes to the end, click the Stop button or use hotkeys or schedules to end recording. If a recording ends with special audio effects, for example, applause, try to record part of this applause and use the Editor to fade it out later.
- The recorded audio files can be read from the file list. Recording details such as duration and size will be given. Different formats will be marked with different colors.
- Play a recorded file to see if it meets your requirement. If not, delete it or go to the Editor to improve it.
- The recorded file is saved in the default path. Click Folder to open it, or click Options-Save to change it.
- If you want to send your recording, for example, email your congratulations or greetings to your friends, click the Email button to start recording. When it stops, an email with an audio attachment is ready for you. Complete the subject and content and send it out. If you preset the subject and content in Options-Email, you will save a lot of time.
