JingleBox: Error messages caused by damaged file or resolved by re-installing software

Error Messages

The error messages below are messages that appear when JingleBox intercepts an error. Most of these errors are caused by damaged files and can be resolved by re-installing the software. However some are the result of incorrect operation of the software or interference of another application. With some errors, JingleBox gives you a suggestion about what caused the error and a way to resolve it.

JingleBox couldn't create logfile.
JingleBox encountered an error while attempting to create or renew the logfile. JingleBox will perform a new attempt when the software restarts.

JingleBox couldn't create Timelock directory.
JingleBox was unable to detect the Timelock directory or couldn't create the Timelock directory.

File not found.
JingleBox cannot access the file you specified. Make sure you have access to the file and that the file hasn't been removed by another application. Also make sure that the file you tried to open is not in the root of the drive. All files to be used by JingleBox must be in a folder or directory.

JingleBox couldn't create sets directory.
JingleBox was unable to detect the Sets directory or couldn't create the Sets directory.

JingleBox couldn't create info directory.
JingleBox was unable to detect the Info directory or couldn't create the Info directory.

JingleBox couldn't create temporary directory.
JingleBox was unable to detect the Temporary directory or couldn't create the Temporary directory.

JingleBox encountered an error while initializing.
JingleBox failed to initialize. Make sure the software was installed correctly.

JingleBox is already running.
Only once instance of JingleBox can be running. You attempted to launch JingleBox while a previous instance was still running.

JingleBox cannot find jbres.res.
The file jbres.res was not found in the JingleBox directory. Re-install JingleBox to correct this.

JingleBox cannot find Agreement.rtf.
The JingleBox License Agreement must be present in your JingleBox directory. It was put there when JingleBox was installed, but you probably deleted or renamed it. Re-install JingleBox to correct this.

JingleBox couldn't find the necessery fonts.
JingleBox uses several fonts that need to be in the JingleBox directory. The fonts are installed during the normal install procedure. Re-install JingleBox to correct this problem.

JingleBox encountered an illegal runcode.
Illegal runcodes are caused by a wrong date/time setting. Check if the date/time on your system are correct. If JingleBox still detects an illegal runcode, contact Broadcast Science to get a resetcode.

An error occured while attempting to verify the runcode.
JingleBox couldn't verify the runcode. Could be caused by a damaged registry file. Uninstall JingleBox from your system and then re-install the software.

JingleBox couldn't find the external editor.
The external editor was not found where JingleBox expected it. Go to the Configuration window and reset the External editor

JingleBox couldn't spawn (editor)
JingleBox was unable to launch the program that you specified as the external editor. Go to the Configuration window and review the path to the External editor.

Path to external editor not specified
You attempted to launch the external editor, but the path to the external editor was not specified in the Configuration window. Open the Configuration window and review the path to the External editor.

JingleBox couldn't access the logfile.
JingleBox attempted to access the logfile, but failed. The logfile could be missing or damaged. Shut down JingleBox, check the JingleBox log directory and delete all files in that directory. Then restart JingleBox.

JingleBox couldn't set fonts.
JingleBox attempted to change the fonts for the user interface, but failed. Make sure all necesserry fonts are still in the JingleBox directory, or simply re-install JingleBox to correct this.

JingleBox cannot create online information.
JingleBox encountered an error while creating a webpage.

JingleBox couldn't find browser.
JingleBox tried to open a webpage with a default webbrowser. JingleBox couldn't find a program that is associated with .htm-files. Install a webbrowser like Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator.

JingleBox cannot open online info.
JingleBox attempted to open a HTML-file using the default browser. The browser returned an error. Make sure your browser was installed correctly.

JingleBox couldn't get version information.
JingleBox couldn't get the version information for the associated program files.

Error while reading key
The software key you installed is cannot be read. The key could be damaged. Re-install the software key.

Not a JingleBox key
The software key you installed is not the key for JingleBox. Install the right key for JingleBox.

Key corrupt
The software key is damaged. Contact Broadcast Science to obtain a new software key.

JingleBox couldn't find the temporary Timelock playlist.
JingleBox uses a temporary file while playing back the Timelock playlist. While JingleBox attempted to play an audiofile, the Timelock temporary playlist was missing. Re-open or recreate the Timelock playlist.

JingleBox couldn't initialize the Timelock player.
JingleBox encountered an error while playing back a Timelock playlist. Make sure the Timelock playlist is correct and hasn't been modified manually.

Timelock cannot read the autoloaded playlist.
The playlist that was loaded with the auto-load function is unreadable. The file might be corrupt or modified.

Timelock automation failed.
General error caused by the Timelock automation module. Probably caused by wrong audiofiles in the Timelock playlist or a malfunction of the audio device.

Timelock cannot read the playlist.
The playlist is unreadable. The file might be corrupt or modified. Try a different Timelock playlist.

JingleBox cannot print the Timelock playlist.
The printer failed to respond. Check if the printer was installed correctly or use a diagnostic tool to check the printer.

Timelock cannot update the File menu.
The file menu on the main screen cannot be updated.

System information unavailable.
JingleBox couldn't retrieve information about your system. Could be caused by a damaged system registry or the file msinfo32.exe is missing.

Browser cannot save associated information.
The Browser attempted to save information in an information file, but failed. Make sure you have access to the Info subdirectory in the JingleBox directory on your harddisk.

JingleBox cannot find the audiofile.
The Browser attempted to load an audiofile into a player, but did not find the audiofile where it was expected to be. Most likely the audiofile was moved or deleted.

Cannot load player.
The Browser cannot load an audiofile into a player. Most likely the audiofile you attempted to load is missing or corrupt.

The Set file could not be found.
You tried to open a set file, but JingleBox didn't find the file where it expected it. Make sure you select an existing set file.

JingleBox could not open the set.
JingleBox encountered an error while it attempted to open a set file. The set file might be corrupt. Re-create the set file.

Browser cannot save set.
JingleBox encountered an error while attempting to save a set file. Make sure you have access to the set subdirectory in the JingleBox directory on your harddisk.

The recorder was unable to access the file.
The recorder cannot load the audiofile. It is probably in use by another application. Make sure no other applications are using the audiofile.

The browser cannot access the specified drive.
The Browser cannot access the drive you selected. Make sure the drive is accessible. If it is a removable media drive (like a CD-ROM drive), make sure the disc is loaded.

Browser cannot show associated information.
An error occured while JingleBox tried to display information from an info file associated to an audiofile. Delete the info file or re-create it.

Error while creating report
JingleBox attempted to create a status report, but encountered an error. Make sure you have access to the log subdirectory in the JingleBox directory on your harddisk.

JingleBox cannot access the specified drive.
JingleBox cannot access the drive you selected. Make sure the drive is accessible. If it is a removable media drive (like a CD-ROM drive), make sure the disc is loaded.

JingleBox could not copy the file.
An error occured while JingleBox attempted to copy a file. Make sure JingleBox can write in that specific path.

Diskmanager cannot delete file.
The Disk Manager was unable to delete the file you selected. Make sure the file is not in use or protected.

JingleBox couldn't print the log.
Caused by a printer problem. Make sure the printer responds correctly. Use a diagnostic printer utility or see if the printer was installed correctly.

JingleBox couldn't find the log.
You attempted to open the logfile, but JingleBox couldn't find the logfile where it was expected. Make sure the logfile is present in the log subdirectory. JingleBox will re-create a log next time it is started.

Logfile too large.
The size of the logfile is limited. If the size of the logfile exceeds the limit, it cannot be opened anymore. Many events were registered in the logfile since JingleBox was last started. JingleBox will create a new logfile next time the program starts.

Not an executable file.
You must select an executable file. The extention of the executable file must be .exe

JingleBox couldn't find any audiocard.
At least one audiocard must be present in your system in order to use JingleBox. While JingleBox initializes, it gets the available audiocards listed in the Multimedia Control Panel. Check that at least one audiocard is present and listed in the Multimedia Control Panel.

JingleBox couldn't save the current settings.
JingleBox encountered an error while attempting to save the Configuration settings to the system's registry. If this problem occurs every time you shut down JingleBox, the registry is probably damaged.

JingleBox couldn't get the settings.
JingleBox couldn't get the settings from the system's registry. JingleBox will put new entries in the registry when it shuts down. If this problem occurs every time you start JingleBox, the registry is probably damaged.

JingleBox couldn't change colors.
JingleBox attempted to change the display colors, but failed. Go back to the default settings.

Player failed.
One of the jingleplayers does not respond correctly. This could be a problem of the particular audiofile loaded. If this problem occurs with any audiofile, it is most likely caused by the audiocard. Make sure you use the right type of audiofiles.

Auditioning player failed.
JingleBox couldn't play back the audiofile. Probably the audiofile is corrupt or the audiocard is in use by another application.

Module F-Start failed.
The software module that controls the jingleplayers encountered an error.

JingleBox couldn't get the default format.
The Recorder tried to find the default recording format from the registry, but failed. Try using a different recording format. Specify the default recording format in the Multimedia Control Panel. The default recording format should be PCM with a resolution of 8 or 16 bits and a sampling rate higher than 8 kHz.

The Recorder cannot access the audiofile.
The audiofile you attempted to load intro the recorder is probably in use by one of the players or even another application.

The Recorder cannot save the audiofile.
The Recorder encountered an error while attempting to save the audiofile. If this is a new file, make sure the filename is valid and that the path is accessible. If it is an existing file, make sure the file is accessible and not in use by another application.

The Recorder cannot update the file menu.
The file menu on the main screen cannot be updated.

Couldn't determine runs
JingleBox couldn't determine the runs value. Re-install the software to correct this.

Trial version has expired
You are using a trial version of the software that has expired. Contact Broadcast Science to obtain a licensed version of the software.

JingleBox cannot build GUI.
JingleBox encountered an error while attempting to build the graphic user interface. Most of these problems can be resolved by re-installing the software.

JingleBox couldn't update File menu.
JingleBox cannot update the file menu on the main screen.
