Save Older Version of Data
File Versioning Policy
File Versioning Policy allows you to specify the way of old versions saving. The settings are customizable for each of jobs.
Versioning of deleted files
You can specify what to do with files and folders deleted on other side of synchronization.
- Remove permanently
- Move to Recycle Bin. It is valid for local disks only.
- Move to "_SYNCAPP" folder. This option is recommended in most cases.
- Move to user-defined location.
Versioning of modified files
You can specify the way of saving of files that should be replaced during synchronization.
- Delete old versions permanently.
- Move to Recycle Bin. It is valid for local disks only.
- Move to "_SYNCAPP" folder.
- Move to user-defined location.
If you do not wish to save old version data you raise performance of sync process but have not chance to restore old data.
If you use recycle bin old data will be saved on local disks only (like the windows behaviour).
Using sync folder location (_SYNCAPP) allows to spend minimum of time during data synchronization of network drives (data trafic does not increase because of data saving) and removable devices (the time for transference of data to other device is not required). But make sure that you have enough of free device memory for old data saving.
User-defined folder permits to fix device for Versioning Policy.
