RSA Key Management Tool

AEP2009 Pro has special tool to keep information about key files. It also can generate new key pairs, encrypt/decrypt private keys.

This tool can be accessed from a main program menu. Click on.

To create new keys, click on Create New Key Pair... command.

To add existing key to the list, click on Add Key File... command

Generating key files

To create new key pair do the following:

1. Choose folder where to want to place new key files.

2. Type key name in the "Key Comment

3. Choose key strength in "PKI Key Length" list: 512, 768, 1024 or 2048 bit

4. Make decision, do you want to protect use of private key file (a secret key used for decryption). If Yes, click on "Protect private key by password" checkbox, then enter a password and choose the encryption algorithm used to encrypt this keyfile. This password will be asked every time when you want to decrypt some files using this private key.

In future, it will be possible to decrypt/encrypt private key.

5. Click on Create button.

6. Created key files will be added to the list of RSA Key Management Tool automatically

Managing key files

In Keys Manager you can Delete, Rename Keys. It is also possible to encrypt/decrypt private key files.

1. Click on any line.

2. You can make a multiple selection of lines. Hold Ctrl or Shift Keys and click on desired key files.

3. Click on any link in the right.
