Animated Text

The Text object allows you to insert Text areas into your scene. There are two types of Text Areas; standard and animated.

How to insert an Animated Text area into your scene :

1. From the Objects toolbar, select Text... For an animated text area, please ensure that the animated text icon is visible. If the standard text icon is shown, left-click and hold. This displays two options; Text and Animated Text. Select Animated Text.
2. Move cursor to active scene in editing window and left click to position the Animated Text Area on your scene.
3. Your first Animated Text Area is added to the movie's scene and should appear in your Timeline with a default Text name. (Example Text Animation 1, Text Animation 2 etc.)
4. Reposition, resize and/or rename the Animated Text Area by using the Animated Text Area property panel as described below

1. Name: The default name for the Animated Text Area is Text Animation 1, Text Animation 2 etc., as visible in the name property and in the Timeline in the order inserted into the movie. You can change these to names of your choosing by simply deleting default name and entering your chosen name. Ensure the correct Animated Text Area is selected before changing the name property.
2. Style: The style property allows you to change the appearance of the Text Area. Check the box "Apply to all text animations" at the bottom of the style properties menu to apply chosen style to all Animated Text Areas in all scenes in the movie.

   • Border Color Determines the color for the Animated Text area's edges
   • Border Width changes the thickness of the Animated Text area's edges.
   • Fill Color Used to specify a color for the Animated Text area.
   • Fill Opacity adjusts the brightness of the chosen color.
   • Eraser Makes the text area transparent and borders invisible.
3. Font Color The font color property allows you to change the color of the text that appears in the animated text area.
4. Text The text property allows you to customise text formatting options such as font, font size, font color, text alignment and also edit the text that is visible in the Text area. Double-click the body of the Text Properties Menu to edit or insert Text area text. You can also check spelling of entered text. Two additional options have been introduced in version 5.0. These can be found in the bottom left corner of the text editor and are explained below :
   • AutoCalculate Size: Size your text area to automatically fit the amount of entered text.
   • AutoCalculate Time: Automatically adjust the timing in the Timeline based on the setting of the Reading Speed property in Preferences.
   When you click the Text property, The Text Animator Wizard appears.

Text Animator Wizard

1. Text Effect: To apply animation effects to your Text, select the animated Text effect desired from the list on the left and view a preview of the selected effect in the Text Animator Wizard's Preview Window.
2. Text Editor: Use the Text editor to enter your desired text.
3. Spell Check: Use this tool to check and correct any spelling errors in your text. When clicked, the Spelling Wizard appears if Demo Builder detects any spelling errors in your text. If Demo Builder does not detect any spelling errors, it simple confirms that spelling check is complete.
4. Font: To customise your font, font style and size, click Font , the Font Wizard appears. Change Font properties as required and click OK.
5. Align: Horizontally align your Text to Left, Right or Center. Vertically align your text to Top, Middle or Bottom.
6. Animation Speed: Adjust the speed of your animation by sliding the speed indicator from left to right. To slide the speed indicator, Left click on triangle and drag.
