Movie Properties
A finished demo or tutorial created with Demo Builder is made up of a series of screenshots known as Scenes. These are displayed in the movie window as thumbnails.
Movie's property panel

- Name: The name property allows you to specify a name for the movie, you can also specify author's name, your company's name, Email Address, website and a brief description of your demo, tutorial or movie.
- Size: The size property allows you to specify a new size (in screen pixels or percent) for your movie.
- Type: The type property allows you to change the type of your movie. You can specify Photo Slide Show, Software Presentation or Grayscale movie. Choose the appropriate project type to obtain the smallest swf file size without quality loss of movie quality.
- Start-End
The Start-End property is used to specify the load behaviour of the movie and the actions it should take at the end of the move.
- Preloader: Customize the preloader image that you can optionally display at the beginning of a movie, before it is fully loaded. You can also adjust what percentage must be reached before the movie starts.
- Expiration date: Add an expiration date to your movies, so that they will no longer play after the expiration date is reached. If a user attempts to view a movie that has expired, they are redirected to a webpage or display text with hyperlink.
- Ask password: Add password protection to your movies. This option allows you to create movies that will ask the user for a password prior to the movie playing.
If you need the user to log in on the internet, click Server Script and enter in the URL of the login page. Demo Builder will send the appropriate parameters to the server script (php, asp.etc.).
At the end of the movie, you can specify one of the following behaviours :
- Stop Movie : The movie stops at the end of play, but still displays the last screenshot (scene).
- Loop Movie : To continuously repeat your demo/tutorial or movie. (Useful for trade kiosk type presentations).
- Close Movie : The movie stops at the end of play and the application closes.
- Go To URL : At the end of the movie, a pre-defined website is loaded and displayed.
- Run EXE : At the end of the movie, run a pre-defined program or application. (Note that the executable must be located in the same folder as the exported Demo Builder swf or exe file being played).
- Go To Movie : At the end of the movie, opens and runs a new movie that you specify in the same window or browser instance. (To open and run a new movie in a new window or browser instance, please use the Go To URL action above).
- Navigation
- Watermark: Add a custom watermark (or logo) to all scenes in your movies. Watermark can be altered in terms of physical location within all scenes, and opacity. You can optionally make it 'clickable' so that it hyperlinks to a webpage of your choosing. Using watermarks is a great and easy way to automatically insewrt a company logo, phone number, email address, photo, logo, etc... in the same location of all scenes within your movie. Great for branding!
- Background Audio
Add audio effects, including voice narration, to your movie by importing existing sound files or recording using Demo Builder. You can add background audio to your entire movie in a number of ways :
- Record voice-over narration at the time of capturing your screenshots when creating a new movie by selecting the Record narration checkbox on the Recording Settings Wizard Preferences tab.
OR
- Record voice-over narration whilst previewing and editing your movie by clicking on the Background Audio button on the properties panel and then clicking on the +/Record button to record your voice-over narration.
OR
- Likewise, you can also add background audio to your movie by Importing *.wav and *.mp3 files, either from your computer or network drive or from Demo Builder's built-in Audio Collection.
When an Audio effect is included in the movie, the background audio properties expand to include additional properties.
 |
Add audio: record voice, import existing audio file, import from audio collection.
Importing or Recording a background audio at this point will auto-overwrite the existing background audio for your movie. |
 |
Remove audio from list |
 |
Listen to the background audio for your movie. |
 |
Replace the audio. |
 |
Edit the audio with the built-in audio editor. |
| Loop |
Check the Loop box to have this audio clip repeat continuously throughout your movie. |
| Fade In and Fade Out |
Use these to add fade effect to your background audio. The music fades in or out in short, medium or long mode or you can choose none to start audio play without fade effect. |
| Volume |
Use this to adjust the volume of your background audio for scenes with added background audio. For example, if you insert music as the movie's background audio and then use voice-over on one or some of your scenes, this property allows you to lower the volume of the movie's background audio so that the voice-over for scenes is dominant. |
