How to insert a Standard Text area into your Scene
- From the Objects column, select Text...(For standard text, ensure that the Plain Text icon is visible. If animated text icon is visible, left-click and hold. This displays two options; Text and Animated Text. Select Text.
- Move cursor to active scene in editing window and left click to place Text Area.
- Your first Text Area is added to the movie's scene and should appear in your Timeline with default Text name. (Example Text 1, Text 2...)
- You can reposition, resize and rename the Text Area using the property Panel above the editing window.

- Name: The default name for Text Objects is Text 1, Text 2 etc. This is visible in the name property box on the panel and in the Timeline in order of insertion into the scene. You can change these to names as desired by simply deleting the default name and entering your chosen name. Ensure the correct Text Object is selected before changing the name property.
- Style: The style property allows you to change the appearance of the Text Area. Check the box Apply to all texts at the bottom of the style properties menu to apply chosen style to all Text areas in all scenes in the movie.

- Border Color Determines the color for the Text area's edges
- Border Width changes the thickness of the Text area's edges.
- Fill Color Used to specify a color for the Text area.
- Opacity adjusts the degree of opacity (or transparency) to allow objects behind the text box to remain visible to users.
- Eraser Makes the text area fully transparent and borders invisible.
- Text The text property allows you to customise text formatting options such as font, font size, font color, text alignment and also edit the text that is visible in the Text area. Double-click the body of the Text Properties Menu to edit or insert Text area text. You can also check spelling of entered text. Two additional options have been introduced in version 5.0. These can be found in the bottom left corner of the text editor and are explained below.
- AutoCalculate Size: Size your text area to automatically fit the amount of entered text.
- AutoCalculate Time: Automatically adjust the timing in the Timeline based on the setting of the Reading Speed property in Preferences.
Check the box Apply to all texts on the font properties menu to apply chosen style to all texts in all scenes in the movie.
