Menu and Toolbar

When you first start some of the programs in OrgScheduler/Calendar system, you may be surprised by what you see. The menus and toolbars in some programs have been replaced with the Ribbon (as it appears in Microsoft Office 2007).

Toolbar

The Ribbon is designed to help you quickly find the commands that you need to complete a task. Commands are organized in logical groups, which are collected together under tabs.

The Ribbon Application Button located at the top-left corner of the PhotoLab Calendar window provides access to the Ribbon Application Menu. This menu contains the most common application commands.

Always keep the Ribbon minimized.

Click Customize Quick Access Toolbar.

In the list, click Minimize the Ribbon. To use the Ribbon while it is minimized, click the tab you want to use, and then click the option or command you want to use.

Keep the Ribbon minimized for a short time. To quickly minimize the Ribbon, double-click the name of the active tab. Double-click a tab again to restore the Ribbon. Keyboard shortcut To minimize or restore the Ribbon, press CTRL+F1.

The Ribbon context menu is divided into 3 logical groups:

  • Check box menu items that allow users to control the visibility of associated bar items in the bar;
    The Show Quick Access Toolbar Above the Ribbon (Show Quick Access Toolbar Below the Ribbon) menu item – allows users to position the Quick Access Toolbar at either the top or the bottom of the Ribbon;
  • The Add to Quick Access Toolbar (Remove from Quick Access Toolbar) menu item – allows users to add (or remove) new bar items to the Quick Access Toolbar;
  • The Minimize the Ribbon menu item – allows users to hide the tab page panel in the view.

The Quick Access Toolbar allows users to access frequently used commands regardless of the currently selected tab (right-click).

Synchronize with Outlook - changes to data transfer operations between PhotoLab Calendar and Microsoft Outlook®. Previous versions of the PhotoLab Calendar only allow data to be moved. Bidirectional synchronization between the two applications has now been added. The main feature of the PhotoLab Calendar sync service is smart update. It must ensure that no replicates are allowed regardless of how many times the procedures are invoked.

  • Export To -> Excel - you can export data to the Microsoft Excel from PhotoLab Calendar.
  • Export To -> Text - you can export data to the TXT-file from PhotoLab Calendar.
  • Export To -> Html - you can export data to the HTML-file from PhotoLab Calendar.
  • Export To -> Xml - you can export data to the XML-file from PhotoLab Calendar.

Different types of view provide different formats for scheduling and viewing.

Select the "Always Show Event Time" checkbox to always display your event’s times regardless of whether its time bounds match the time blocks currently shown in the scheduling area or not (images from OrgScheduler):

Different types of view provide different formats for scheduling and viewing . The PhotoLab Calendar control provides many types of views: Day/Week/Month/Quarter/Year, All Days or Work Days Only and Vertical/Horizontal Timeline views.

The left side of the scheduling area is occupied by the time ruler bar, which displays the time of the time blocks:

The second time ruler (if specified) appears to the left of the primary time ruler.

By default only the primary time ruler is displayed. To display the second time ruler click the "Show Additional Time Zone" button:

Note: the time ruler bar is only visible under day view.

In the Horizontal Timeline view the events are chronologically ordered from left to right along a timescale.
