Command Line Utility

Command line batch image conversion tool is an advanced feature meant for professional use, and, therefore, is available in ReaConverter Pro only.

Below is the description on how to convert image files from the command line using ReaConverter command line tool, namely cons_rcp.exe.

Cons_rcp.exe allows you to run image editing and conversion directly from the command line, command (batch) files, or through third party applications.

The tool deals with configuration (.cfg) and action (.act) files. A configuration file contains information on the output format and its settings, destination folder, additional settings, file options, file name modifications, conversion options (transparency color, loading settings, etc.), and, optionally, information on the file list. An action file takes care of the actions you need to apply to your images.

Both configuration and action files can be saved in ReaConverter as well as in any text editor. However, we recommend saving them directly in ReaConverter as it minimizes the risk of mistakes.

Format of using ReaConverter command line tool:

• Cons_rcp.exe accepts the following command line parameters:
• cons_rcp.exe config.cfg [actions.act] [/hide]
• cons_rcp.exe config.cfg is a required parameter, where:
  • - cons_rcp.exe is a full path to the tool. Unless specified otherwise during installation of ReaConverter, cons_rcp.exe is located in ReaConverter folder on your system disk, for example: "C:\Program Files\ReaConverter 5.0 Pro"
  • - config.cfg is a full path to a saved configuration file.
• actions.act is an optional parameter, where actions.act is a full path to a saved action file.

/hide is another optional parameter that should be used if you need to run con_rcp.exe silently.

Note that if the file paths to cons_rcp.exe, .cfg or .act files contain blank spaces, you need to type them in double quotes, as shown in the above example.
