Information
In the Information tab you can control whether to display additional information about the images. For example gPhotoShow can display image exposure data or a title you added with other programs.
File information are related to the file itself and they are available for any kind of file.
Exif fields can be displayed for jpeg files only if GDI+ is installed. GDI+ is always installed in Windows XP and Windows Vista, can be downloaded and installed on other windows version.
IPTC tags can always be displayed for Jpeg files. IPTC can also be displayed for TIFF files if Windows Imaging Component is installed.
XMP tags can be displayed for Jpeg and TIFF files if Windows Imaging Component (WIC) is installed. WIC is already installed on Windows Vista and is included in .NET frameworks starting from v3.0. WIC can also be downloaded from the Microsoft Download Center (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=8E011506-6307-445B-B950-215DEF45DDD8&displaylang=en) and installed on any computer running Windows XP SP2 or later
Simple/Advanced
This section has a central area that can change depending on whether you prefer simple settings or advanced settings. Simple setting allows you to display info in a single area over the image and information can be taken from some predefined fields. Usually this is enough to display a description or a caption over your pictures. If you want more control on what is displayed switch to advanced settings, in this way you can display info in two separate places called Header and Footer (but they can be positioned everywhere on your images). Moreover you are not limited to some predefined tags but you access almost all Exif, IPTC or XMP tags of your pictures.
