Output Settings
As part of setting up a camera, you need to specify how you plan to distribute the content. You have several options for distributing content:
Broadcast from the computer, which is running the program. You can use the program to support up to 50 connections. If you need to serve more than 50 users, you need to broadcast to a Windows Media server, which is streaming the content to players. See more info about Windows Media server at www.microsoft.com.
To broadcast content, you must specify the port through which the content streams. Users (or Windows Media server) then connect to the content through the port, using HTTP. If the connection is over the Internet, the URL for connecting is http://IPaddress:portnumber. If the connection is over a local area network (LAN), the URL for connecting is http://encodercomputername:portnumber.
To Broadcast from the computer:
- On the Options menu, click Camera Settings.
- Click the Output tab.
- Select the Broadcast encoded output check box, and then either specify a port or click Find Free Port.
- Click OK.
